My daughter needed a bandana for summer camp. Girls should wear it to protect their necks on picnics and anytime they gather around a campfire. She is 7 years old so tying a bandana is not the easiest thing for her. She thought a hooded headscarf would work best and I'm so glad we found it. It's SO SOFT, regular bandanas (like new ones) are spiky and hard. This is as soft as a jersey shirt, although clearly not nearly as thick. It expands to give her enough room to pull it over her head and protects her from fire. The best part is that she can wear it in multiple ways - she often wears it as a headband to protect her face from sweat. Again she's only 7 but it suits her. I've washed and dried it many times and it's still in great shape, still stretchy and still nice and soft (even without fabric softener). This is a great item for kids at camp.
