I use several instant and wireless thermometers when cooking, roasting and smoking food. I have thermistors from Thermoworks, Maverick, Weber and this one from Thermopro, plus a few others I've bought in the past. I even tested the accuracy of this thermometer with others I have. It was only a few degrees from my other probes. I have no problems with accuracy. I was grilling thick pork chops tonight and after a few twists I inserted the probe and it got to 65-68 degrees. That was hard to believe based on what I had experienced in the past. I pressed and even held the power button several times and the temperature was about the same. Then I went to my old reserve. An old instant read by Weber. Showed 138-150. So I took the chops off the grill. As I walked in, I noticed that the power button on this unit was the same button as the F/C toggle button. When I grabbed the weaver it went up to 140-150 degrees. Then I realized that I was measuring in degrees Celsius. I couldn't even change it once inside. The F/C designation is in a font that is harder to read than temp. Then I discovered that the power button and the F/C button are the SAME button. Who in their right mind would do that? I'm attaching a photo to show some of the thermal controls I compared to this one. This is the ONLY unit that has the F/C selector switch aligned with the power switch. Based on this question, all I can say is do not buy this product. I can approve other products in the photo, but this is a technical error that will occur with others. Revain has expired but I wonder if the manufacturer will fix this issue. I can say a lot about several Thermoworks products but this company seems to be catching up and is not doing a very good job. Sorry but I call it what I see it. Thermopro - Take the tried and true method others have learned. Keep the keys logical. I encourage your answer.
