Review on 🛡️ YEMA YM-829 Helmet Visor: Clear Face Shield with Pinlock for Optimal Protection by Paul Walton

A typical ride for me is 3 hours in the saddle. Long day 400-500 miles. This rating may not apply if you only ride your motorcycle around town. I also have to say that I bought this helmet for $30 instead of the $69 it is now. Also, I've never owned a $400 helmet. maybe they are magical and silent, I don't know. Okay - it's a helmet and it's cheap. I don't find it too loud, but I have a windshield. Not quiet, but normal. I have the XX-Large and it fits me. I think they run a bit small. Fast shutdown is convenient. Replacement signs are readily available. The shield is crystal clear. I periodically reach down to lower the shield when it's already down. It's as if he doesn't exist. The visor snaps firmly into place and feels secure. The sun visor is fine. I think it's too dark and goes too far, but it's not terrible. I usually wear my helmet low in the front. When I lift my chin to the "normal" position, the visor doesn't touch my nose. Seems to be working fine. Now the problem (at least if you wear it for more than 90 minutes). The hard foam under the windshield has a sharp edge. The foam padding is insufficient. After 90 minutes I had a painful spot on my forehead. I drive long distances and that's not possible. I modified my helmet by peeling off the padding and then removing the plastic cover from the foam padding. It is held in place with a drop of what looks like hot glue. I then used my thumb to push out the sharp edge, creating a more rounded edge on the white foam. I also completely removed this bead of hot glue from the styrofoam. Maybe that's why I felt the sharp edge. The helmet works great without it. I rode 4.5 hours after the modification and it was absolutely comfortable. Conclusion: With the above modification, this is as good a helmet as any for me. The price is right compared to many helmets. And it's easy to change.
