A fantastic addition for amateur cameras with cropped sensors. The "whale" is at its most useful for reporting at dark, when it is already partially blind. You can shoot portraits with it, but the results will be distorted and it does not have very good sharpness in the open. I tried wearing it while it was still under warranty together with the carcass (D5300) so that it could be adjusted by the official service, but it was of no use. Concentrating on one topic is a little bit better, but it's still not very good. It is no longer possible to mess up the bokeh on a camera with such a ratio of focal length to aperture. They are sharp even when fully opened, in contrast to lenses such as the 50mm f/1.8G and the 85mm f/1.8G, although they are full frame. There are also instances in which autofocus fails.
