I had Nikon 50 1.4D, Nikon 85 1.8G, Nikon 80-200 2.8D, Nikon 24-70 2.8G, Nikon 50-300DX, Tamron 28-75 2.8 aspherical blah blah blah, Sigma 35 Art 1.4, also used Nikon 35 1.4 N series, so there is something to compare with. This cheap, small lens, I can say for myself, is the best among all this junk that I have listed. Why? Price, I took it for 7k. Fluffy weight. Focus speed-Sonic X. Sharpness-razor, if you add a little more to the FS. I took it under the Nikon D90, after the zooms it was hard on the fix, but I quickly got used to it, and over time I began to get cool shots. On crop, 35mm is almost 50mm on FF. Image quality is top notch for the money. Then I bought a D600, I also shot with this baby. There are only two minuses: the vignette is strong at the edges, but is partially removed by the lens profile. And the second is distortion, which is also done a little with a profile. The quality of the pictures I received was high. Very sharp, very accurate and very fast focusing. Then I used it on the D800. Basically there is no difference. Then I sold it, having heard a lot of reviews about Sigma Art, I bought Sigma, I was disappointed that the optics for 40k are not able to surpass the optics for 7k in terms of image quality. Well, yes, Sigma has a nicer bokeh, it’s a little lighter, but these are all trifles, but when this Sigma smears every time, then you think whether it was needed. If we compare 35 1,8DX with Nikon 35 1,4 H series (compared on D800), then as I noticed the H series loves wild contrast in the photo, where there is a shadow, it will make the night. Plus, the price for this 35 1.4 N series is simply unrealistic, so I would never take it, where, well, now let the DX cost 12-15 thousand, and this 1.4 N series is under 120 thousand, the difference for this money is in the photo I personally will never see, maybe 15 thousand difference, but not 100, sorry, Therefore, I consider the 35 1,8 DX the best lens I had, I went through fire and water with it, and it served me for many years both on crop and on FF, and would have served further, but I sold it. And I would buy it now, but I'm leaving Nikon. Photo D800+35 1.8DX
