It was a relatively disappointing experience. I just need a camera that can pan and tilt to keep track of toddlers at play and that doesn't stream over the internet. Below is what I encountered. Can't use the camera without the app. I can't use the app without an account. The app said my WiFi wasn't good enough and refused to connect. (I have enterprise-class Aruba hotspots, my WiFi is fine.) Even after setup, you can't use the camera without internet. There is no web browser interface for the camera. I can forgive the first two if they offer a token based on 2-factor authentication, but the only authentication is password-based and limited to 20 characters. It is unacceptable for an application to determine that my WiFi network is not strong enough and refuse to connect. Having a security camera that doesn't work without the internet, which is inherently insecure, makes it unsafe. It should work with at least an HTML5 web browser on the local network. At best, the application should work and have a switch that only allows local access. Needless to say I returned my purchase.
