Review on πŸ’¨ WiMas DIY Peltier Cooler Kit: Efficient 12V Semiconductor Thermoelectric Cooling System with TEC1-12706 Peltier Heatsink Module Kit and Fan by Anthony Daniels

The best you will find.

This is the best in class module I have tried. The TEC1-12706 used in this device is actually the best I have ever purchased in the past. Operating from 12.6 volts with a 10 amp power supply, the inrush current was 4.7 amps on the chip alone and settled at 4.13 amps and was stable there. The temperature difference from 77.7 F ambient temperature to the cold side (with the 40mm fan switched off) was 41 degrees. The cold side was 36.7 F. The moisture on the cold side condensed and this prevented the temperature from dropping any further. Almost every other TEC-112706 chip I have only draws 3.8A on startup and levels off at around 3.2A. A typical temperature difference of just 30F is normal for most. The chips in two of these WiMas modules have the same readings. Obviously, these modules use Class A TEC chips along with a very powerful 80mm CFM fan and a superbly designed heatsink. It is also unusual that a fan is installed that pushes air into the radiator, which ensures very good cooling of the radiator. I usually have to modify either the TEC chip or the fan before using these types of cooling modules, but this one comes out of the box. work blocks. Follow-up 09/07/20 did a second test of the block, removing the 40mm fan and installing the cold end of the block on the insulated radiator shroud. The same power, consumes the same 4.13 A. The ambient temperature is shown in the figure (78.1 F). Cold finish temp 23.2 F, cold drain freeze. working time 5min. So far still works as intended.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Bad kit
