Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Hardtop No Trunk

He did what we needed and did a damn fine job. Bought because of the price and the lack of a roof rack. It was supposed to be the top of my Hyundai Sonata, but I ended up using my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with a Freedom top because the car looked pretty heavy. The trunk and the top were filled! The jeep has no seals that can be pulled down and buckled according to the instructions. It only has a hard top to which straps can be attached. There were no problems with the rear passenger doors. The hard top had an ideal and safe place to hook up. It was a bit more difficult on the driver and passenger side. The hard top has a small channel that the edge of a flat metal hook can fit, but not quite. Once the straps were tight they held up well, but at first I was a little apprehensive. I used masking tape to cover the front hooks just to add some reinforcement. We drove about 500 miles to the beach. It was very windy when we got off about an hour later. There was a 3.5 mile ocean bridge that made me nervous about the wind. This is really the only time I can say I've had a load from above. When we got to our destination, I noticed the bag moved back a little, but not by much. We arrived with all our things. It was very easy to load and unload. I won't use it again.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
