Review on πŸ”§ Bora Portamate PM-3500: The Ultimate Industrial Strength Universal Rolling Mobile Base to Effortlessly Move Your Heaviest Power Tools by Kenneth Foster

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Bora PM-3500 Excellent stand! I had to crop.

I built half a dozen wheeled stands for my other tools but decided to treat myself to a Bora 3500 for my band saw. I learned about this coaster from a YouTube video (by Stumpy Nubs) and I love the design. I also got a BIG prize for Revain. The minimum stock dimensions for the base exceeded the dimensions of my saw (16x20) so I shortened it. Original/stock assembly is not difficult, however. I looked at the parts and with my wife's help decided to modify the assembly to retain the original design and strength. I took the short side rails and used them on my long sizes which fit perfectly. I then measured the long rails several times and decided not just to cut off each end, but to drill receiving holes behind the rollers to achieve the perfect fit (16.5" x 20.5"). The holes in the rails are factory punched and tapped which is difficult to reproduce. So we found a way to use the factory threaded holes by cutting off a few at each end. Then I mounted the saw onto the Bora mobile base, drilled the holes and screwed them together. It even rolls perfectly on the uneven floor of my garage (but at home it will be in the basement store). I love it! (Edit) PS The steel used in this mobile base is much harder than regular heavy gauge angle or box steel. It's harder to cut and drill.
