Sold separately, the Yocada sponge mop is listed as an ‘ebay’s Choice’ product, and there’s no shortage of reviews for it. I’ve been using a mop with a similar wringer system from Vileda with refills from O-Cedar for years. I’m so tired of the sponge refills tearing, I’m done with them. The longevity of the mop head on this type of wringer system relies on the sponge refill being fully saturated before you wring it out. If the sponge is not fully satisfied and you try to wring it out, you risk tearing the sponge away from its attachment trim. I have hopes that I’m going to have better luck with this Yocada system. This Yocada sponge mop has the wringer handle farther down, because the mop handle has been designed for compact shipping, and subsequent assembly. That’s a frequent complaint in reviews for it, with customers having to lean down farther to wring. This set comes with a two-fold instruction pamphlet for mop only. I find that inserting the sponge refills on this mop, which you’ll have to do initially, is quite easy compared to the two versions of the Vileda ones I’m leaving behind. But some reviewers find it difficult. This set of Yocada Mop, Refill, and Collapsible Bucket seems to be a decent deal if you have a use for the bucket. That the set comes with one sponge refill is a bonus. The bucket is made of a shallow 2.5” deep hard plastic dish, a 2.5” ring at the top, and a 2.5” rubber ring, watertight sealed to the top and bottom pieces. The bucket is also sold separately on ebay, and you can see lots of reviews for it there. One complaint about the bucket is collapse while in use, and then gallons of water flooding your floors. My suggestion is to use less water, dump and refill more often. A small inconvenience compared to unexpected gallons of water spreading everywhere. The bucket is made of a shallow 2.5” deep hard plastic dish, a 2.5” ring at the top, and a 2.5” rubber ring, watertight sealed to the top and bottom pieces. The rubber ring makes it collapsible and there’s a graphic for expanding and collapsing it on the bucket-only ebay product page. The bucket is promoted both for mopping and for carrying cleaning products. I could also see myself using it to keep the wet mops off my carpet, after I’ve mopped myself out of the kitchen. I usually use some old newspaper for that, until I can empty the buckets. My back issues don’t allow me to lift more than about 6 lbs, and a gallon of water weighs about 8 lbs. So I usually use a gallon or less to mop. I have (2) solid plastic mop buckets with plastic handles. When I do my kitchen floor I use one for soap, and one for rinse. And I use a Rubbermaid pad holder with a generic wood handle, and blue no-scratch pad to get deep grime out. (I’m a guy living alone, so sometimes there’s grime.)I keep one mop bucket and sponge in my basement laundry room, where my hot water heater and whole-house humidifier have potentiated floods. And one in my garage, near the door to my kitchen. I could see this collapsible bucket being great for people who live in a smaller space.
