Review on πŸ”§ Dyson Clutch with Belt for DC07, DC14, and DC33 - Durable and Efficient Replacement Part by Sarah Mailyafemail

Very Difficult to Replace

If you don't have all the known tools, it's a tough decision. The clutch had to be replaced as the belt snapped and I refuse to give up my Dyson DC07 as I've replaced pretty much everything on it at the moment. But is this a solution? I wouldn't advise most people to try this. The first problem is guessing what size torque to use. Then, to get into the tight space, the approximate diameter of the Sharpie marker requires a special, long-handled, thin extension. Loosening a tightened bolt is the second problem, so it took a drop or two of penetrating oil to keep the bolt from loosening. I ended up widening the hole in the plastic case to access this screw. Flash forward. Replacing the clutch itself wasn't too bad, but the belt was so tight that the tool that was supposed to help lift the belt over the pulley actually broke. The belt was too much for him. I also broke off a piece of plastic on the case, but high performance aerospace glue fixed it. It works great and needs some work so I'm very happy to get the new part. But for me it was literally a 3 week repair as I needed the right tools and time.
