I've been using it for a day now, I know it's not a fair test I guess but if I wait a week I'll probably never visit again. Still I gave it a 4 because I don't like that the air is sucked in from the rear, it doesn't have a remote control, it's expensive and the lights don't dim when the lights are off, in fact the top ones stay on. I chose this one over Winix because Sharp invented the Plasmacluster and I think they are more powerful and you can turn on the flow. I chose a humidifier because I need extra moisture in winter, Hepa has shown to last longer and you can wash the pre-filter. You know it's on because the Plasmacluster clicks. a faint ticking, like a tiny arc of electricity. but constantly. Darling, it's louder, more like a quiet computer fan, it's silence from about 3 feet away, like a spring breeze. However, the cluster changes tone, turning on and off at 1.5-second intervals. The sound is similar to the sound of a quill scratching paper. annoying but not too much. You can't hear it from about 10 feet away, but it's there. I was hoping a louder fan (I like a little white noise) would drown it out, but the cluster only gets louder. and low as a rolling wave. it's mesmerizing and distracting. The instruction is confusing and quick to clean in this mode where water is needed or not needed in the tank. it also seems to work without it. in automatic mode it stays low unless it needs to be faster. The smell detector works, I had to use it like chloroform and put it in the sensor cloth. the vinegar made the green light blink. Wintergreen alcohol angered the group, and the ads turned orange and red. So it seems to be working, I haven't used the humidifier yet, it doesn't hold much water so I don't have high hopes for it. as an air purifier, the room is fresher - note that for the first 6 hours or so the room smells somewhere between a department store and a swimming pool. strong smell of chlorine. however, it is absorbed by the device. Plasmacluster has a lot of claims - it removes static electricity, hydrates your skin by coating it with a layer of water molecules, and prevents evaporation (I can't believe it). it is said to kill some viruses, mold and odors in the air. it can even take the smell out of the fabric. I checked the last one, I have beaver skin that smelled like perfume. and after 20 hours these ghosts disappeared. So if you have a lover who left a perfume note or a pillowcase, that smell will quickly disappear. someone complained of asthma and plasma - no problem here. However, my eyes are very dry. Someone mentioned that their air gets drier when plasma is on. and that seems to be true. With the door closed in my room, I started with 50% humidity, now it's 40%. Maybe that's why my eyes are dry. Oh, and while I mentioned it, turning off the lights only turns off the decorations on the front. no overhead light, although it looks dim, but bright enough to cast green circles on the ceiling. it's pretty annoying. I'd rather turn everything off when the lights go out. You still need a panel to let you know you're out of water. although the tank appears to have a window on the side. By the way, the pool of water looks difficult to clean.
