Review on πŸš› Curt 57727 Truck Backup Alarm: A Reliable Safety Solution for 7-Way RV Blade Trailer Wiring by Jose Baldwin

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Poor design when using a backup horn is the sole or primary purpose.

This actually means that it is an extension of the trailer lighting cable. When the reversing alarm is on. The reversing alarm's tone is a bit shy; it's not as loud or "obnoxious" as the BU horn in my neighbor's van. To be at all visible, the spring-loaded dual cover must be slightly ajar, exposing the trailer's lighting connections to the elements. I opened the cap about half an inch which doubles or triples the sound of the BU horn, then wrapped heavy duty tape around the entire adapter leaving a 1 inch gap on the horn side to allow the sound to come out. If you have a trailer that is constantly connected to the network, this is a good solution. If you are more interested in BU signaling, there are more suitable and cheaper products.
