Review on Cabiclean 2 HEPA Filters with 6 Carbon Pre Filters for AP-1512HH Coway Air Purifier by Fred Novak

Purchased to replace filters in my Coway Airmega 200m, mechanically identical to AP-1512. It appears to be an established replacement filter from another brand that was significantly cheaper than the Coway brand filters. The HEPA filter looked very similar to the original Coway filter and the materials looked the same. The glue on the folds was slightly different, but the dimensions were practically the same. The filter installed easily and was as tight as the original Coway. The activated carbon filter was the same size as the original but was significantly thinner. After using the air purifier for a while, I noticed that it doesn't remove odors very well. I use this particular device next to the kitty litter to eliminate odors and filter out the rising dust. The original filters were better at removing that faint, lingering smell, making it impossible to smell the nearby litter box unless you stuck your head in. But even these replacement filters did not do their job. The air purifier usually worked right away after my cat used the box and quickly removed any odors from his poop, but these filtered the air, not the odors. I suspected finer carbon filters were to blame so I switched to a different air purifier in a different part of the house and the difference was day and night. Dust, but given how the company skimped on the activated carbon filter (a cheaper item), I'm also suspicious of its quality. Since they give you 6 charcoal filters it might work to double them but next time I buy a replacement I will choose a different brand or even pay more for genuine Coway filters.
