Review on ๐ŸฆŽ Zacro Reptile Heat Lamp 60W / 100W / 150W: Infrared Ceramic Non-Light Emitter + Digital Thermometer Combo by Michele Olson

Go hard 2 years. Would 100% buy again.

I have a 12 year old 7.5 foot Oriental Indigo (red phase) snake. I'm so sick of those heat lamps that blow out every few months. They also claim they're infrared, but you could still see some of the visible red light, which wasn't ideal. I came across these heating elements and am very happy with them. I bought this lamp in January 2019, it has been working without problems for 2 years now. Heck, even if it burned out after 2 years, I'd happily replace it with another one anytime. Oriental indigos are very temperature sensitive and don't need temperatures above 82ยบF, so I hold the bulb over the warm side of the cage and plug it into a thermostatically controlled outlet that's also hooked up to day/day mode. Night timer, so this thing is constantly turning on and off 8-12 hours a day, probably at least a hundred times a day. I was concerned that this might cause durability issues, but so far so good. I have to say that my cage's design has a cut out that allows the heating element to be placed lower in the cage (see photos) allowing my snake to bask about 8 inches from the heating element. If your pet needs more range and/or temperature I might consider a couple of bulbs or a more powerful model. Also, that green and white thing on my snake's tail is its headband. He had a minor accident this summer and required surgery and reptiles are VERY slow to heal so this bandage will be a reality for at least another 8-12 months. He is very happy and doesn't even realize it. But that's why you can't see the substrate in the cage right now. You cannot risk the bandage coming off and splinters falling into the wound. I put unscented puppy diapers in the tank and he just made a mess and I cleaned him out so the diaper was gone. This is a very happy and hungry boy named Pico.
