Review on New Nikon 18-105mm Vibration Reduction πŸ“· Zoom Lens with Auto Focus for Nikon DSLRs by Lang Lang Buana ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The right product for me, there were no problems.

See what they are criticizing for. Most often, dissatisfaction with the lens is a consequence of the fact that the photographer does not know how to use it. 1. Pillow barrels - removed during processing with one click. Shoot in NEF, paste the lens profile into Camera RAW, click the "Lens correction" button. 2. Soap dispensed unpredictably. It seems that the aperture is clamped, and the shutter speed excludes movement. The culprit turned out to be a protective filter, which was screwed on at the time of purchase and forgotten (and, of course, back and side light, which caused re-reflections). I removed the filter and weaned myself to forget about the hood. 3. The over-clamped aperture also spoils the picture. Optimal 1/8 - 1/22, do not pinch. 4. Lagging elastic - made of natural rubber. Stretches from fat from sweaty hands. I do not stretch, tk. I wipe my hands and periodically wipe the rubber on the lens and camera with banal vodka. 5. The rest of the claims - oh, if only the aperture ratio of 2,8 and ringing sharpness for the same money - cannot be taken seriously.

Pros
  • Suitable for almost all shooting situations encountered in the city.
Cons
  • The plastic mount oppresses morally.

it seemed to me that 18-55 would be sharper
