Review on 🐠 Finnex Ray2 Aquarium LED Daylight: Efficient Lighting Solution for Vibrant Underwater Life by Lisa Green

This review is for the 48" Ray2 Daylight. I've used it for less than 24 hours but I'll share my first impressions. This product is made in China and it shows from the packaging (plain brown box) to the vague instructions and very limited warranty. The lamp itself is very compact and appears to be medium sized. The included legs do not fit the 1" tank frame, this wasn't a problem in my situation as I knew immediately from the intensity of the light that I had to lift it out of the tank, I have a canopy with this mount as well. Very light weight, 3 zips easily installs about 4" from the water surface. I purchased this light as I was planning to set up a standard 90 gallon aquarium. I really expected that I would need to add additional lighting to accommodate reaching the low light range for some of them plants I wanted to keep, to my surprise this light far exceeded my expectations it is definitely outside the low light range even at 24 inches deep, up to to the point where i would have to either diffuse the light or add CO2 and ferts to keep algae at bay i have quite a bit of experience g with planted aquariums, HO lighting and CO2 injection but unfortunately I'm not very good with vapor readings which would help me or others interested in this light determine where it would put their tank. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and have full confidence in growing more than the original plants I expected. I will update in about a month after seeing how the plants are reacting and if there are any algae issues. Hope that helps! Update: After about 2 months of use I am loving this light. My first impression was that maybe there was too much light, but so far I haven't had any problems with algae and I don't add enzymes. All plants respond well, modern plants - anubius, java fern, crypt, stem, wisteria, red ludwigia and tiger lotus. About a week after installation I had a momentary power outage and when power came back only half of the bar was lit, I was afraid of what some other reviewers mentioned, but after turning the power off and back on all the lights came on . . Another plus, my electricity bill hardly goes up!
