We just installed new vinyl flooring where there was carpet. So instead of plastic tabs that make it easier to slide across the carpet, you'll have to switch to felt tips. We looked through quite a few felt squares - our chairs have 1 1/4" square legs. The sticker felt just slides off and never stays in place. Afraid of damaging the floor - and then we found it! That is really good design they differ from other silicone cases with felt squares only at the bottom they slip and tear the silicone and eventually come loose BYE - these stayed perfectly in place no slipping the key is that the felt square is the side of the silicone toe. Glides MUCH better on the floor when sitting in a chair than any other marker pen. Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews when new information seems useful. Time will tell if they are as good as they seem. We have four chairs so we used 16 jets and you get 24. So there are spares if there are any. I think it's important that they fit snugly against the legs of the chair, so the ring is important. If you are tired of changing the felt for your chair legs I recommend you try this.
