We have an open floor plan and installed 5 of these panels in our kitchen. They work great, we use them with Alexa. We have grouped them and can manage them all at once or individually. You can pick any color, change the softness of the white, and darken it via Alexa. We usually use soft white, but it's nice for kids to play with colors or set colors for special occasions like game days or holidays. They've only had it for a few months, but no problems so far.
