I have been using Gamma2 seals for over ten years. I bought about 100 pieces in total. Until recently, I recommended them to everyone. They were strong, durable and efficient. However, recently it became known that Gamma2 decided to change the design of the lid. Many cracked on the first hit with a rubber mallet. This is the same rubber mallet I have used for the past ten years to install all of my other Gamma2 gaskets as Gamma2 recommends. The seals I received are very different from the ones I've used before. The plastic is brittle. O-rings are loose. Tightening the screws feels springy rather than tight. And the whole kit feels light - so much so that I took a new pad and one of my old Gamma2 pads on the scale and weighed them. Previous seals weighed 337 grams. New weighs 295 grams. I suspect if I used a micrometer to measure the thickness of the o-ring plastic it would be thinner as well. In summary, here are the issues that are apparent with the lids I've bought in 2020: - brittle plastic warps and breaks easily when hit with a hammer - lids won't stay closed; the "springy" light plastic means that the lids open after a few days even after they have been screwed on tightly, the sealing holes are too large and usually fall out with regular use.
