I've been making rafters for over ten years. During this time I have used many Gamma caps and buckets. I bought two new caps for a week long river trip at the end of September 2019. Both lid seals defective. One fell off and was too loose to reinstall, the other fell on the threads, pinched and dented. I bought 5 of these. 3 of them, the ring that snaps onto the bucket have split and become unusable. The buckets are 5 gallon (12 inch diameter) white Walmart food buckets. 3 of them had cracks in the middle of the covers that needed sealing with tape. They never had anything with them. The first negative was the smell. The ring has a very bad odor that will probably dissipate over time, but I have no idea how long this can last.
