Worth the price of Memory

I'll preface this by saying that RAM chips are always hit or miss and it can be very tedious to isolate a blue screen error to a faulty chip. I highly recommend that after installing your RAM, you make a copy of memtest and run it before installing the operating system. If memtest doesn't work, RMA the faulty chip. Memtest86+ is my personal favorite, but use any memory tester, just don't use the BIOS run option to test your memory, they're usually useless. The best of these boot from CD and work independently of the operating system. It doesn't happen very often, but 1 in 100 RAM sticks will fail. This RAM is great for office use etc. Its performance should be around 7.5. (Windows 7 Experience Index) or something like that in the default configuration. If you use Triple Channel, expect 7.6. They don't accelerate very well as they heat up quickly. The most stable timings when overclocked are 7,7,7,21 which is not very impressive. Getting the chips to actually work at 1333 or higher takes a lot of trickery. Another reviewer noted that they work well at 1.5V. I will confirm this, but you should increase the power to 1.65 for overclocking. If more, they get too hot. These chips support dual and triple channel configurations. I haven't had a chance to test the quad channel configuration yet as my motherboard doesn't support it. A little information about two-channel and three-channel configurations. Most motherboards are color-coded to show how to install memory in pairs for a dual-channel configuration. or with an odd color that would not be used for a triple channel. See your motherboard documentation for more details. Dual channel increases performance and triple channel even more. My motherboard configures the memory as 4 single-channel banks, not 2 dual-channel banks. If I install all four chips, your motherboard can do the latter. Most of the time they work right out of the box, but if you're having trouble posting, try to speed up the time. For example, on Intel motherboards, you can lower the "Multiplier" in the "Custom Memory Configurations" section. Usually, lowering the multiplier from 12 to 8 helps. I've only seen this issue on 1st Gen Intel Core motherboards. They don't support ECC. So make sure your device can use them. Non-ECC (Non-Error-Correcting Code) memory is the most common and available memory. ECC RAM is more suitable for high-performance devices such as servers, RAID controllers, or other situations where reliability and stability are important. is critical. I like to call them "smart memory" chips.
