Update: After a week of trying to find a manufacturer/seller to discuss repair/service, I found an error. The thing worked wonderfully - not for long. One day it stopped in the middle of cleaning for no reason. Now it will back up just an inch, then stop and beep. None of the troubleshooting steps in the guide changed anything. A piece of absolute garbage. It seems people should be willing to buy a new one once a month and be thankful. Having loved Crabby for a while I sadly join the ranks of petulant 1 star reviewers who have found that after a few weeks/months it mysteriously stopped working and there is no company responsible for a repair could be contacted. Don't waste money. Buy a broom for $3 from Dollar General. It will serve you for 10 years. Addendum to the review below: The other day this thing suddenly stopped working. Nothing happened, it just stopped working. Manual troubleshooting = an hour wasted time. Everything cleaned. I unscrewed all the screws and opened it up. The manual seems to indicate that 2 beeps means the "altitude sensors" need to be cleaned. The manual nowhere says what "altitude sensors" are, nor does it say if a low beep, a pause, 2 high beeps means 3 beeps or 2 beeps. I'm not sure if it's worth the cost of shipping, repair and return. So it was fun for a short time, but ended up being an expensive and crappy toy. Crabby is doing very well. And he too looks like a crab with his eyes and spiky claws. I'm very glad I chose this budget robot and not the more expensive one. That's all we need, no questions asked. We have 2,000 square meters of solid wood flooring on one floor, so it's very easy. Have several cats and dogs and this is perfect for hair. Ignore claims from expensive products that they don't pick up pet hair (from hard floors). I haven't picked up the main household broom for several days, and before that we swept several times a day. The dogs chased him at first, of course, and the border collie kept popping up from behind the furniture to bite him, but now they lazily sidestep when he approaches, then lie down again. I have to go around the house, picking up things that are in the way, and I pull the chairs off the table so he can go around them (he goes around the furniture legs perfectly). Things he doesn't do: 1) Kitty litter. We still need to use a proper broom around the cat crates. Krabby will pick up a bit, but more often than not the brushes will throw debris everywhere when they hit someone. 2) Corners, both inside and outside. Its "edge" attitude is great, but it goes way around the outer corners; and of course it cannot fully penetrate into corners. Other little things he can't handle: children's clothes on the floor, like a dirty sock lost in a colander. Small items are partially sucked in and Crabby chokes and calls for help. A platform that has dog water bowls on it: you have to pick it up because even though the ledge is half an inch high, Crabbie climbs over it and spills the water, then gets stuck and can't get over the ledge. And yes, you can spend a surprising amount of time watching him with a remote control, enjoying him eating balls of pet hair while not having to sweep - until you realize you could sweep for half a day. . house in less time than you spend managing this little guy. After a little fun the first few days we all learned to let him do his thing instead of playing with him. I don't know how it works on carpet as we don't have it, but it's perfect for the floor.
