Review on Sony DSC W290 Stabilization Discontinued Manufacturer by Haley Sammons

First of all I have had many cameras in my life including 35mm "old" film. I have 3 Sony digital cameras and each one is technically "ahead of its time". This one is no different. I'm not a photo lover, but I recognize good photos when I see them. I went for the small size that fits in my front pocket rather than a bulky large and powerful camera. But I was also surprised. This is a powerful camera! Every feature of this camera is AMAZING. With the high resolution, you can edit photos, crop and enlarge great images. BURST mode lets you capture multiple pixels quickly. The stabilization software works great and almost completely eliminates the "arm" instability. The HD video mode is great, but while the stabilization software is great, be careful when zooming in and recording videos. He will tremble! Better than no stabilization, BUT. Will wobble. All cons that others report are true. But probably not without reason. With the small buttons, you cannot turn it on/off or take a picture while it is in your pocket along with other small items like keys, etc. The smile detection was developed for babies and children and works very well. You need at least 4-5 feet of focus for it to work, but it works, and pretty well. Those who think it's pointless have never photographed children. The colors are amazing! We went to Alaska and I took over 1500 pictures and films. Alaska features a full range of overcast, overcast, and sunny daylight hours. The little W290 did well. I bought an 8G and 4G band and used about 20g or more but transferred it to a laptop so I can handle it. I didn't even pull out the 4G strip! By the way, the 4G band on Revain is only $12. Imagine a roll of 350 reusable frames for $12! In HD video mode, you can use 30 minutes/2GB memory. 4 STARS is perfect for me. Nothing probably deserves 5 STARS so I gave her 4. It's a well-designed, well-thought-out, high-tech camera, yet EASY to use. You don't even almost have to read the manual. As with all cameras, just have a spare battery and memory stick handy. You will love it so much you will USE it! Much luck!
