The chair cushions are actually quite comfortable and soft yet supportive. The problem I have is that the seat portion that sits on the hydraulic pump rod squeaks if I move around at all. But what's worse is the seat has the ability to shift from left to right instead of being held firmly in place to keep you centered on the chair. This is because of the way the chair is assembled on the lower rod that connects between the two "legs" - so there is nothing holding the pump centered or in place. If you look at the photo you'll see the area I'm referring to.I weigh approx. 130lbs and am only 5'3" - but I find that due to this flaw the seat tends to shift and causes a leaning slightly to one side. So after using this chair (with breaks/getting up and moving around) during a typical work day I often find that either my left or right hip will get sore - depending on whatever side that the seat leans towards that day. I can't imagine this will be good for my hips in the long run, even with taking breaks from the chair every half hour - hour. For this reason I would not recommend this chair.
