Excellent extra long CAT7 flat cable. Flat cables are great for running under rugs, rugs, or rugs (those plastic ties that look like things you find in computer labs, etc.). As it is CAT7 (bandwidth: up to 600MHz) it is also recommended to replace all smaller cables with the latest available category as future products will require the extended capabilities of higher category cables. CAT7 is backward compatible with all previous Ethernet cable categories. In other words, you don't have to worry about it not working with your existing installation. These cables have gold plated connectors, while visually impressive, this adds more to the retail value of the cable as it enhances any aspect of the cable's signal carrying capability. Rather than explaining it here, just know that the whole story about gold connectors was true in the analogue age but became irrelevant in the digital age. However, the additional shielding in CAT7 (it has a shield around each twisted pair and then another layer of shielding around the entire cable) actually increases the cable's signal carrying capability, eliminates RFI and minimizes system noise : + flat cables fit everywhere + CAT7 = increased bandwidth (600 MHz) and better shielding + Robust connectors (gold plated, but who cares?) + Mounting clips with nails included
