Bought for my 4 year old granddaughter. She is slim but very tall, more like a 5 year old, so I ordered the size for 5-7 years. They're a little big, but they still fit well enough that she can probably use them in the snow for a few more years. I like that they are adjustable and can be tightened around the wrists. If you have a small petite child and want a fit then you probably need the smaller size but they are not very tall and don't look silly so I'm glad they are a bit big. I hope this helps, I read a lot of reviews to decide what size to take. Plus, she loves her, so that counts too.
