Useful, but has weaknesses. Read More

Conclusion: It's practical and has all the features, but it doesn't quite keep up with the little things for the price. That's a good counter. It's durable. It measures capacity. It has NCV and is very convenient. Detachable cables come in handy. Interchangeable heads are handy. There is a lead storage. Practically. The bag storage is really good. The magnetic hanger is practical. That's a lot of good stuff. But. It has bugs with little things that fix other counters. If you switch it to VA/C, you'll read a series of millivolts on the screen. of what, air? This problem gets really annoying when you just want to confirm the circuit is there and get phantom voltage readings. This meter has no low-impedance function. That's what the much cheaper Fluke 116 has. This eliminates parasitic voltages and gives you "useful" information. Technicians don't need to see millivolts on the screen. You only have to see 0 or 120V. This disadvantage comes with amplifiers and capacitance. This does not contribute to confidence in accuracy. If you can overcome this disadvantage, buy this counter.

Pros
  • Auto-Range: The HS36 is an auto-ranging meter and is very accurate.
Cons
  • There are problems
