I just received it yesterday. These will be my first observations and maybe some suggestions to the manufacturer - maybe ideas for their next release. Pros: 1) Color palette - thought it was a bit off until I put it next to the uniform and realized again that the multicam is random - sometimes darker, sometimes lighter. I also think the material itself is kind of a canvas, which is a bit different - I think it's the reflection of the light off the surface. 2) Materials - feels very good - zippers - feels big and hard - I used pliers to pinch the zipper to make it more secure. They are similar to those on the issued goods. The insides of the main pockets are lined to make the material more water-repellent - spraying it with Camp Dry doesn't hurt anyway. 3) The hydration bladder is by far the least impressive part. I can't vouch for its durability, but I wouldn't trust it - I'll definitely be replacing it with Camelback. So far this is just the beginning and better than nothing. I poured water in it and it doesn't drip. There are two plastic clips on the bag (one of my suggestions for improvement later here), so overall I really like the space, straps, materials and colors. All you hope and expect to see here is - ALMOST - There are a few things I didn't particularly like. Manufacturer's suggestions. Cons: 1) The lace is good, but it hampers work and access to zippered pockets. Perhaps I would change my mind if I had to temporarily put away damp outerwear. 2) Sync straps at waist and center - firstly we have enough things wrapped around us that I almost NEVER use them for other things. but that's fine except most other things that have this have a little hotspot to hide them. Also, there are no elastics to pull off the extra length of the straps. I just rolled it up and glued it to the base of the shoulder straps. Second, the center (side and rear) timing belts - they also impede access to the pouch. The top of the main mesh pocket is secured with a buckle strap. I would have preferred to have buckles on the side straps as well. again no problem. 3) Bladder attachment points - plastic clips that hold the bladder in place, they attach with a cheap thin rubber band - no looped material as it should be sewn (like camelback). These straps don't look like they haven't stretched or flexed in a long time. 4) Final observation - as stated in the video - I noticed that the rear pocket - its material must have been attached to a car (or some other Chinese sweatshop). sewing table) with the wrong orientation. Multicam has a typical pattern of mostly horizontal markings - they are strictly vertical. But this is normal, since the new army uniform - multi-chamber type - only lighter (the color matches it even better) should have a more vertical color pattern. - since ALL cylinders fail over time, this bag should have both a central and two outer hooks for the cylinder - maybe I'll open the sewing kit. Conclusion: I LOVE this bag and I am close to loving it. Attached are some photos and videos I took along with a short video I made showing a possible pack/typical use - on the track or in the field but with no load. I hope this was pretty thorough and helpful as I searched and searched for a decent hydration pack that I can have enough room to make it viable without paying a ton. I think this is what I was looking for! Video: I show the contents: Tiny front pocket: phone, snack, earplugs and some allergy/headache pills I have right now (LOL). It never hurts on the day of shooting. Main closed pocket in front: rain note binder with SuperGTA protractor, pen and mechanical pencil, first mesh pouch - notepad probably wouldn't go in there - just wanted to show size Mesh sections in back: big enough to fit my MS surface and secure with buckle .
