The product description clearly states that they are designed for use in water. You are not. I bought two for my large turtle tank and after about a month of use the resin skins started falling off in large chunks. I wanted to take them off: as I pulled them out, one split in two, and the other disintegrated when I touched it. The crumbling skins didn't seem to cause any problems for the animals, but I swapped out the tank entirely and put them in a smaller quarantine tank for a month while I recycled the water. Bottom line, it was a mess. GENERAL BENEFITS Attractive Appears non-toxic That's why I'm giving 2 stars because there are potential benefits. However, they are NOT intended for use in water. Don't buy if you're going to get them wet.
