Review on XSCORPION CB250 Circuit Breaker Manual by David Barit

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Performance

I just installed and tested it so while I can't comment on the lifespan, here are the approximate performance specs I measured. At 250 amps I had a 0.2 volt drop and was able to run at that amperage for at least 15 seconds. With a draw of 400 amps there was a 0.3V drop and an operating time of 5 seconds. Times are tough as I couldn't pull these currents all the time. I use a breaker to connect two car batteries to two hydraulic pumps that typically draw 200 amps together and up to 400 amps at 2500 psi. This is on a Wood-Mizer sawmill and lets me operate the hydraulics even when the sawhead isn't supplying power. I will update this review if I remember or if the breaker fails so don't take the news as good news. Update: The automatic circuit breaker failed completely in August 2017. It has been switched multiple times a day for the last month, I will be replacing it with a higher rated circuit breaker as shutting down has become frustrating. My consumption was by no means normal, over 100 cycles is not bad for the price. And it was used completely outdoors, the only problem was that the end nuts started to rust.
