Fits 2006 Silverado Maxx. On the back of the transfer case is a round label stamped in red to indicate which model of transfer case you have. I have 246. Many 1/2 ton Silverados have 246 transfer cases. Appearance and equipment are identical. You must reuse the plastic gasket from the original device as it is not included. The spacer is 1/8 inch thick plastic so I'd be surprised if you couldn't reuse yours. The front driveshaft did not have to be removed, but one of the bolts is almost flush with the front driveshaft yoke. A short 15mm wrench will make working with that one bolt a lot easier. The other two screws are easy to access. Remember to put the truck in neutral and rotate the shaft coming out of the transfer case to align it with the splines on the new engine. /Unit. You can rotate the shaft by hand, but I had to use straight pliers and slightly rotate the shaft all the way to align it. Don't bite too hard with pliers as you can damage the teeth on the shaft. Enough force to fully engage the shaft. Do not attempt to rotate the teeth/splines on the assembly itself to align with the transfer case shaft. The assembly is delivered neutral from the factory.
