Re: Variant VG258QM. image and color. I was hearing and researching TN, IPS and VA technologies myself and decided that since my previous monitor was TN I should stick with it so I could potentially integrate my new monitor with my old one. wow i was shocked Despite all the fuss about TN washing out colors, not being as sharp or not handling depth well, this monitor was a shock to the system compared to my old model. The nearby color depth seems (if not) very realistic, and looking back I didn't realize I'd been using a blue filter in my world for a while. It's so good that I had to use links like photos, my phone and other people to really find out because I've gotten so used to my old TN. Worried about color depth on a TN panel? In my experience, this should be a calming experience. - Build quality - I like this base. I won't be using it as I have a multi monitor VESA mount but still love it. Solid, well made, nicely articulated and snug once you find the position. If I didn't use wireframes I'd love to put this on my desk. -- Menus and more -- Default settings for color, performance and more. Good depth of choice once you get used to the scheme of things. A small menu joystick to toggle makes navigation less confusing. Overall I'm very happy with this monitor, I'll get another one or one very similar. Despite the dual monitor setup, I had the second disabled as it's older and I can't stand the color difference and lack of clarity in comparison. It really raised the bar.
