If you see a strong smell coming from the heater while it's running on other reviews, they don't lie. Didn't see any reviews until I got mine and turned it on and then looked. If you use this heater in a very large outdoor area, e.g. For example, in a company office or other building, the smell *may* not bother you. But it doesn't go away. The best way to describe it is the smell of burning electrical components. I thought it was just something that would go away after a while, but after running the heater for more than 8 hours I can tell you that it definitely won't go away at all. My whole house now smells like burning electrical components. If it bothers you at all, don't buy this heater. I will tell you that it generates a lot of heat and turns off immediately if you tilt it one way or the other. Too bad it stinks. I had to go back.
