Review on 🔧 CR201R-0 CHALK-RITE Gear Drive Chalk Snap-line by Tajima by Jose Ballard

I bought this chalk line because we were doing a big roof renovation project and we needed to tear down every other row to keep everything straight. For the first part of the roof we used cheap aluminum chalk line with cotton thread and we had to change the line from time to time because it wore out. Also, the cable got stuck in the box and was difficult to pull out (it even snapped once). The new Tajima didn't have such problems. It takes some time to get used to the difference in strings - Tajima nylon strings are thinner and more resilient than cheap line. But he makes thin, clean lines. Also, the Tajima blue chalk appears to be thinner than the standard blue chalk, gives a clear line, and probably makes bowstring drawing easier. The string winds up quickly when you wind it up. The plastic coated metal end on the cord where you attach it to things works well. This tool seems to use a lot of chalk (or maybe uses less at a time) so it doesn't need to be refilled often. It also looks good - quite red, but the case is a little scratched from falling from the second floor and the paint on the edges is worn off from frequent use. Overall we are very happy with the Tajima Chalk-Rite.
