My 14 year outgrew the youth size and although he has some room I feel this is the better option. He would have outgrown the largest youth size by the end of the season and it would have been a more than perfect fit. He loves this new helmet and it is very comfortable and stable. If you are here researching for a kid, please be sure to check equipment sizes often. This was my first player and he didn’t say anything about size and comfort. They just want to play ball. So my advice is to do an equipment checkup each season. Or sooner if you notice a change in growth. This is a great piece and I recommend it.
