Review on πŸͺ’ Lord Premium Safety Razor LP1822L aka L6: Enhanced Shaving Experience for Men by Walter Hunter

Inexpensive razor for beginners.

I bought this razor in September 2011. Now, in 2017, it's finally wasted. The threads from above don't stick to the threads in the handle. But 6 years for a $10 razor is amazing. Pros first: (1) Long handle, over 4 inches with good grip (2) Not too heavy (3) Cheap. In 2011 I came to DE woods mainly to save money. Since I was just starting out, I decided to start with something cheap. So I bought this razor with Shark 100 pack blades. The combination of this razor with Shark blades worked great for me. I've also tried derby blades but haven't had that much success with them, I've barely been able to shave 2 or 3 times with these blades. I have a very coarse beard and I usually shave every 2 or 3 days. I also shave after showering (but not in the shower) as it softens the beard. I always have a great shave, I can easily get 5-7 shaves with a Shark blade. I usually do 3 passes with the razor, the first pass in the direction of the whiskers, the second pass against the direction of the whiskers. The last finishing pass is also in the beard against the direction of the hair. I have also tried other razors such as the long handle Merkur 23C (too heavy) and the Edwin Jagger DE89Lbl (the handle is too smooth and slippery and also too soft for my beard) but this razor worked the best for me. On the other hand, this razor is made of aluminum or some kind of alloy and cannot compete visually with other more expensive razors. But you wouldn't expect that for the price. Overall this is a great workhorse and excellent value for money. Highly recommended!
