Plug and play. I didn't have to adjust any settings, the Nintendo Switch knew straight away that it was now connected and I didn't have to reconnect or make any changes to the settings. Since there is no extra USB storage in the Switch Dock, I bought this specific power adapter to continue charging my Switch Pro controller without compromising and future possibilities for more USB devices. Everything just works. My Verizon 75/75 internet allowed the switch to advertise NAT Type B on a 50Mbps connection test. Would recommend to anyone who wants a wired internet connection for their Nintendo Switch without sacrificing the USB port.
