Dashboard light stays on but otherwise bright

Good: 7443 bulbs are made of quality material and are bright. off but the indicator light on the instrument panel stays on. Measuring the regular 7443 with a multimeter shows 0.5 ohms and 2.5 ohms (braking and running) compared to the LED version of 3.9 MΩ and 5.3 MΩ. Installing a load resistor is not worth the cost and hassle, not to mention the lost energy savings. There doesn't seem to be an easy fix for this, so I'll just sort it out.
