You must tighten it to hold the speakers in place!
The speaker brackets arrived on time and were easy to install. However, I did notice that once the speaker was in place, the screw securing the mounting bracket had to be VERY tight. Otherwise, the weight of the speaker will cause the speaker angle to change. After sufficient tightening, the system worked well. Just make sure you tighten it up well the first time you install it and you'll save yourself time and hassle!
