Fixed what didn't work!
After reading other YouTube videos on how to fix a troublesome trailer brake system, I replaced the brake control in the dash, which stopped the ringing, ringing, ringing but didn't fix the lack of trailer braking power when the trailer brakes. After watching several YouTube videos on how to replace this trailer brake control module, I decided to order it and give it a try. It was easy to replace (plug and play) and definitely solved my problem.
