Nothing worked when trying to purify the water in my 54 gallon fresh water tank. All the filtration I did just didn't clean the water to my satisfaction from watching the fish. I tried other I/O systems that were built in and very expensive. The problem turned out to be the power of the U / V lamp. That's not enough for the size of my tank, and the water flow was too fast for the bulb to effectively kill free-flowing algae. Slowly flowing water, more UV radiation. A game of patience. This device didn't clean the water right away, in fact it took almost 3 weeks to get rid of all the algae that was clouding my water. BUT, now the fish seems to be floating in the air. Get a stronger power unit! If your tank is over 50 gallons like mine, go for a higher capacity. This works and does the job, but lasts much longer than a higher wattage incandescent bulb. BAD - A green outdoor unit falls like a clock out of the tank about every five days! You can clean the glass, wet the suction cups and the device is still detaching from the glass just as you are about to fall asleep and then hear "something". (';')( ';')! So this thing needs a better assembly. I absolutely recommend this GKM device! I couldn't be more impressed with the results. The current is slow enough that the water gets a good time frame and the fish aren't disturbed by another unit moving their water. TAKE. Your fish will finally see you walking around the room with your food!
