Helpful for installing top cabinet doors

This is a very useful tool when installing cabinet doors. It clamps to a frame or bottom of a cabinet with the bottom screw which has a rubber end (pic 3). After it is clamped in place, the support arm can be moved up and down with the top silver screw seen in all pictures. You just move the support arm to the point where you want the bottom of the cabinet door to be installed. The arm holds the door in position while it is screwed into the side of the frame. You will need to hold and balance the door with one of your hands while you install the screws with the other. The jig acts like a third hand. Picture 2 shows that the jig is wide enough to hold two doors at one time. You would just install the hinges of the first door and without moving the jig, install the hinges on the second door. Once you are ready to move to another door, you can move the jig down the frame without changing the position of the support arm. You only need to unscrew the jig from the frame, move it to the next door and screw it back to the frame. I was disappointed that this jig did not help with the installation of my bottom kitchen cabinet doors. There is not enough room to unscrew the bottom screw and attach it to the cabinet frame (pic 4). If you install a lot of cabinet doors, this jig would save a lot of time, but only on your top cabinets or any bottom cabinets that have a clearance of at least 3 1/2" from the floor.

Pros
  • HEIGHT-ADJUSTABLE SUPPORT ARM: The cabinet door installation jig also allows you to precisely position your cabinet doors. Adjust the height of the support arm to different positions within a 2-1/2" height range to position your doors exactly at the height you want.
Cons
  • The clamp may leave visible marks on the door
