Good material. One 8oz can and at least another 8oz can was enough to paint our fireplace/stove 2-3 coats after I replaced the broken tile. A little goes a long way, but I would recommend priming any surface you paint. Pros: Inexpensive, very easy to work with and paint/apply, and great matte finish. Cons: The material is not durable/moisture/scratch resistant. Simply applying polyurethane lifted some of the color leaving areas that needed retouching (after applying 2 coats). My guess is that if you're painting a piece of furniture (e.g. a dresser or rocking chair) you'll need some sort of varnish/sealer to get the finish, but that defeats the purpose of an ultra-matte/chalky paint finish. I wish it was more durable, water lifts it up or simply rubbing it wears it down instantly.
