Review on ๐Ÿš€ Efficient OrionMotorTech Separator Remover Service Splitter: Enhance Precision and Speed by Justin Jeppi

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not as hard as you might think

I had to separate the tie rod from the pitman arm and intermediate arm on my 2001 GMC Sierra 4X4 without damaging the seals to make room for the R&R front diff. I've tried several O'Rielly pullers but they weren't strong enough to pull. So I ordered this from Revain and the next day the deliveryman brought it to my doorstep even though I ordered it on Sunday (okay!). But when I started pulling the first joint, the end of the jacking screw started to warp, mushroom shaped, too soft to hold the small shank on the adapter square and hold the puller right on the "pull" geometry . I spent a lot of time and effort aligning and "tightening" the puller with tension, but to no avail, the end of the jacking screw was too soft to hold at right angles and continued to mushroom and deform. In the end I just tried and made a pull and the first connection eventually came loose but with significant distortion at the end of the jackscrew. I did the same with the second pivot and it also came loose, but the deflection of the end of the jackscrew is significant and I highly doubt it will handle any other task. Look at the picture, the fungal growth you see at the end of the jackscrew is entirely the result of two "pulls"; When it came out of the box it had a straight shoulder to support the adapter. Two stars for doing the job without breaking the seals, but I just doubt it will survive another try. The material is too soft and warps too easily. I cannot recommend this tool for this type of work. We'll see how the other tools in the box hold up. Update - 02/18/19: A supplier has requested a rating of my satisfaction with their product and as a supplier. I have provided them with a quote and picture from the review above. Orion Motor Tech responded within 24 hours with an offer to replace the tool or give me a full refund with no refund. I opted for a refund which was sent to my CC immediately the next day. Kudos to Orion Motor Tech for their product support, great customer service, and quick responses/actions.
