I bought this tailgate latch handle because I am planning to buy a trunk lid soon. My 03 Ram 1500 didn't have a lock button. It was very easy to install. There are two small screws that hold the handle in place when you remove the access panel from the tailgate. The new Bully clasp feels and works just like the factory clasp. The locking mechanism is smooth, does not jam, the key is easy to insert and remove from the lock. Even if I didn't get a trunk lid, a locking tailgate could still slow someone down removing a heavy or bulky item from the bed of a truck. I highly recommend this Bully Lock trunk handle.
