should have known better low price 24.00 each packaging was lousy both had some sticky residue on it and the boxes they came in looked like they were them in a damp basement. Installation was excruciating as the designer chose NOT to put a wrench on top of the damper. Under where it and the hub go, I had to use a vise on the upper threaded rod to keep the shock from rotating when I tightened the upper hub nut. It was supposed to be a 10 minute job, but it ended up being a 30 minute job. Work, on each shock absorber. After installation they were good, ride fine, it's been about 2 months now and the front ride is now worse than the shocks I replaced. I even swapped out the shock to see if it would stabilize the lateral movement that those Gabriel shocks are now making. This makes the front end want to wobble left and right, I have new stabilizer bar bushings and links and a new control arm so it's not a problem with those parts. Stiffness is still there and no leaks just a poorly designed shock and terrible packaging. I have a couple of Monroe mufflers on the go, just can't take these Gabriels anymore. They were installed on the 1998 Dodge Ram 1500.
