I love the strap that secures the foot in the heel and the BOA system that hugs the forefoot tightly. There's no padding on the back and it seems like it causes friction, but that went away after the second ride. The waterproofing is the best I've experienced in an MTN cycling shoe and it doesn't get too hot on your feet. The stiffness of the sole is sufficient. and is really handy for hiking bike trails and provides a solid connection to my clipless platform pedals. The toe cap protects well against stone chips.
