Review on Waterdrop 15UAW UF Filtration Reduction Certified by Ken Reed

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A month so far so good.

The water in my town is so heavily chlorinated that it is undrinkable. Sometimes my eyes water while washing the dishes. There is also much rust-like sediment. I have tried different brands of faucet filters and pitcher filters. The chlorine is so strong I filtered the water twice which adds up as the jug and faucet filters have to be changed constantly. I refuse to buy water in plastic bottles, despite the well-known harms caused by the production, transportation and disposal of plastic. I installed a separate small faucet on the cold water line instead of connecting it to the main faucet to save on the filter and only use it for drinking and cooking rather than dishwashing and cleaning. The description says it's rated for 16,000 gallons, but Revain recommends replacing it every two months. I doubt single family homes use 16,000 gallons a year. It's not a whole house filter, street irrigation, car wash filter, nor does it filter water for a dishwasher, washing machine, hot water boiler, etc. I don't think it will be replaced in a year or two, even with sediment. I've been using it for about 6 weeks. The filtered water has no chlorine smell, taste or color. I am very happy with this product and it looks like it will be very easy to replace if needed. If it fails in less than a year I will come back to update this review.
