Review on πŸ”© 12-Piece Set of Cosmos Black Rubber Mounting Screws Rivets for PC CPU/Case Fans by Emili Hudson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Too bad they were made for a softer mount.

Received today. I had to tinker with some, their installation is not easy, but I managed. first reviewer; R. Stone did a good job advising others on the installation. One thing I learned the hard way is that you MUST install it on the fan first. Otherwise you will end up with a blind build and it will be much harder to fit all four. Also, you really have to DRAW these things. To get into the tight corners of my fan I had to use needle nose pliers. I was afraid to break them, but no one did. As reviewer R. Stone recommended, a slight circular motion can help slide them through the mounting holes. At the end of the fan, I found that what worked for me was putting the rubber piece (the longer one) through the fan flange and, while STILL holding it taut with your fingers, stretched its "neck" with it to grab a pair of pliers and pull even further. That helped. The results look and feel good. I'm sure they won't vibrate. A bit of a disappointment though; they were harder than i expected. I'm still building this particular computer, so I can't comment on their effectiveness at vibration isolation. I was under the impression that while they are certainly better than propellers for the task, I still wish they had a "smoother ride". For this reason I removed the star from the rating. In hindsight, I would always look at other products of this type in hopes of something softer and less vibration-dampening. but the other reviewers seem happy, so maybe they'll do well.
